repair既可以做动词，也可以作名词。
1. repair作动词
（1）to restore something that is broken, damaged or torn to good condition修理，修补，修缮
例如：It's almost 15 years old. It isn't worth having it repaired.
这东西差不多15年了，不值得送去修了。
同义短语：fix up
例如：I've fixed up Matthew's old room.
我已经把马修的旧房间修缮好了。
同义词：fix
例如：He cannot fix the electricity.
他不会修理电路。
（2）to say or do something in order to improve a bad or unpleasant situation补救，纠正，弥补
例如：It was too late to repair the damage done to their relationship.
太晚了，无法弥补他们的关系所遭受的创伤了。
同义短语：put right
例如：Cases which have not been handled properly should be put right.
应立即纠正那些处理不当的问题。
2. 作名词时，有一个短语。
in good/bad, etc. repair（或in a good /bad, etc. state of repair）同义短语是in good condition状况良好（或不佳等）。
