一、释义不一样
1、used to表示过去的习惯性动作，过去如此，现在不再这样了。常译作“过去常常”。
如：He used to play basketball when he was young. 他年轻的.时候常常打篮球。There used to be an apple tree here. 过去这儿曾经有棵苹果树。
2、be used to do表示“被用来做某事”。
如：He is used to hard work. 他习惯于艰苦的工作。
二、to的词性不一样
1、usedto其中的to是不定式符号，而不是介词，所以其后只接动词原形(不能接动名词)。
如：HeusedtoliveinParis.他过去一直住在巴黎。
2、beusedto 其中的to是介词，所以其后要接名词或动名词(不能接动词原形)
如：Heisusedtolookingafterhimself.他已习惯于自己照顾自己。
