clothes是复数名词，并且没有单数形式，谓语动词应该用are不能用is。其前不可加不定冠词，也不可加数词，但可用some，these，those，many，few等词修饰。
She put in some clothes, odds and ends, and make-up.
她将一些衣服、化妆品和零碎物品放了进去。
His clothes are very nice.
他的衣服很好看。
注意，cloth是布料的意思，是个不可数名词。表示用作某种特殊用途的布(如：桌布，台布，揩布等)，是可数名词。不是衣限clothes的单数。
She passed the needle through the rough cloth, back and forth.
她一针一针地缝那块粗布。
